Three Colours Guitar Concert And Masterclass

Jazz, modern percussive, Celtic fingerstyle and much more with Stuart Ryan, John Wheatcroft and Declan Zapala at The Haverhill Arts Centre in Suffolk on Saturday 25 June from 8.00pm.

Stuart Ryan – An award winning concert guitarist, Stuart has been the acoustic guitar columnist for Guitar Techniques magazine for over ten years. His pieces have also appeared in Guitarist, Guitarist Presents Acoustic, Acoustic and Akustik Gitarre. Students the world over learn his compositions in the Rockschool and RGT guitar syallbuses and his two books of fingerstyle arrangements, ‘The Tradition’ and ‘The Heritage’, have been universally acclaimed.

John Wheatcroft – Regarded as one of the UK’s leading Gypsy Jazz guitarists, John is a master of all styles. He has played jazz on many of the world’s great stages and is followed by guitarists the world over thanks to his monthly columns for Guitar Techniques and Guitarist magazines. John is also a blues master and his book ‘Improvising Blues Guitar’ has helped thousands of guitarists develop as blues players. His solo Gypsy Jazz album ‘Ensemble Future’ has been receiving rave reviews in the guitar press.

Declan Zapala – One of the most exciting young guitarists on the scene today, Declan is a classically trained musician who mastered the art of modern percussive guitar alongside traditional classical forms. A Youtube sensation he has released several video singles through Candyrat Records in the USA and has featured on BBC Four and Radio Three. His debut album has been heralded as the arrival of ‘A startingly original virtuoso’ by Classical Guitar Magazine.

Join Stuart, John and Declan and go on a journey encompassing everything from the romance of the Spanish guitar, Gypsy Jazz, to Celtic sounds and beyond. Tickets just £12.50.

A workshop aimed at keen guitarists who have 3+ years playing experience and are looking to broaden their knowledge of blues and jazz soloing and improvisation, fingerstyle guitar and modern percussive styles.
