In one of the event’s best-attended sessions, the Thomann president provided a detailed account of the firm’s history and its ascendency online; from its humble beginnings as a small independent store, through to its position as a dominant force on the global MI market. In addition to the company’s early adoption of the Internet, Thomann declared that it is its close attention to detail and determination to deliver the best possible online experience that underpins its continued success.

“You cannot go online half-heartedly. You have to be prepared to welcome the world into your shop, give them the freedom to look around and buy,” he said. “To not be able to offer this kind of first class service was simply not an option.” Elsewhere at the show, organisers announced dates for next year’s Music China, which will be held at the later time of October 14th-17th 2015.
