Prince Purple Rain Tabbed For Your Students

One of the biggest rock ballads ever Purple Rain turned Prince in to a superstar. And not only was he one of the greatest guitarists on the planet, he sung, played piano, played bass and played drums on most of his recorded music. Here we look at the main chords to the songs played by Prince’s rhythm guitarist Wendy Melvoin. The chords are far from orthodox and will take some time to feel comfortable with. Do be aware that they tuned down a half step to record, so if you want to play along you’ll have to tune to D#.
