Play Like Yngwie J Malmsteen

Over the coming Months we will be analysing in depth the playing techniques of guitar legend Yngwie J Malmsteen and giving you tab and lessons to play in a similar style to this rock god.  In the first of many exercises Yngwie Malmsteen uses this shape to do arpeggios starting with its root note on the A string. Here is an A minor Arpeggio that he uses. He uses his pinkie on the way up overlapping the 14th fret of the D & G string but on the way down he uses his third finger on those frets. Worth trying it that way and experimenting to see what works best for you.
