Paul Gilbert Lessons For My Guitar Lessons

Earlier this Year we and some of our tutors where lucky enough to have guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert drop by to give us an hour of his time to teach us some great now techniques and licks. We have a few of the lessons on our video page under ‘Resources’ and then ‘VIP Tutor’.

In this lesson Paul shows us how to change just one note in an A major pentatonic to have a totally unique sound to your playing. Its as simple as taking the F note in an A pentatonic and dropping it down a semi-tone to an F.Simply stay with the major pentatonic when the rhythm sections in A but use the F note when the rhythm changes to D (the 4th in the progression). There’s a few large stretches but its worth the pain. So give it a crack, it sounds fantastic.

Next Month we will release another Paul Gilbert guitar lesson so keep logging on.
