New Covid Omicron Advise For 2022 Now Available For Guitar Tutors
New Omicron guidance has been issued for guitar teachers from the UK Government. The Government’s guidance for out-of-school settings (covering guitar teachers) states that face-to-face guitar tuition activities can be offered to all children. Teachers should ensure that their guitar teaching studios and activities are risked-assessed and Covid-secure, following the Government’s contingency framework and guidance on working in other people’s homes where necessary.
We are not aware of any plans to reintroduce social distancing rules, but guitar teachers may wish to prepare themselves for the possibility of this, or for students who do not wish to or cannot attend face-to-face lessons.
Face coverings are no longer recommended in guitar teaching situations, both for teachers and pupils. Self-employed guitar teachers should be able to stipulate their own policy on face coverings. Private guitar teachers who wish to continue using face coverings should discuss this with parents and pupils.
There is no limit on group size for guitar tuition, either indoors or outdoors, however, Covid-secure measures, such as good hygiene and ventilation, are still required.
