Here’s a few ideas in how to tie in chords with fills with melody statements. These operate as a smooth way to get from one chord to the next – often known as a ‘melody fill’. Creating them is fairly simple to do, especially if you stick to the notes in the key signature. Here we use 2 simple chords, a ‘C’ and ‘F’ and move between them with a simple melody line in the signature key of F.
