David Bowie's The Gene Jeanie Guitar Tab

David was one of the greatest song writers of our generation and here’s a simple rock song from the fantastic Aladdin Sane album. The chords only require you to play the first 3 strings – so the E chord only needs the bottom E, the A and the D to be strummed. This will give you a bigger rock sound. Make sure you dampen the E chord after each strum.

On the verse the first G is played with 3 open strings. This is done for 2 reasons; to step up to the A chords and to give your fingers time to shape the A. When playing the A use your index finger only, this allows you to play the second G on the 3rd fret of the E string with your middle finger as a single note.
