Chancellor Helps Self Employed Musicians & Music Teacher

Great news. Rishi Sunak, the UK’s Chancellor has come to the aid of the music teachers and musicians by offering a taxable grant payment. This will really assist any self employed guitar, drum, piano and singing teacher who earns their income solely from music. He will do this in the form of a grant. The key points where as follows:

  • The scheme will cover 95% of those who are self employed.
  • Anyone with profits lower than £50,000 will qualify.
  • Music teachers and musicians will be able to apply for grants of up to £2,500 a month.
  • The money won’t be available until June, however back payment will be available.
  • If you have yet to give your 2018/19 earning to the HMRC you will be given extra time to do this. DO THIS NOW!
  • To stop fraud you will need to have reported your income to the HMRC for last Year.
  • Money will be paid in a single lump sum.
  • Grants will be available for at least 3 Months.
  • The Tax authorities will contact those eligible for the grants
