Whiter Shade Of Pale - Procol Harum Guitar Tab With Inversions But No Robin Trower

The band Procol Harum had one of the greatest guitarists of all time in it,’Mr Robin Trower’ (with the hat on in the picture), however their only hit record didn’t have any guitar in it, so he’s not actually on this song. This song shows you how to use chord inversions with several open chords. Imagine on the organ the pianist using his right hand to play the chords and the left hand (playing the bass note) moving with each chord to give the inversions. The lead section as tabbed is played around a C major scale.

Sound engineer of this famous mono mix was Keith Grant. Vocals and piano played by Gary Brooker. Matthew Fisher played the Hammond organ, and te amazing original lyrics were written by Keith Reid. This composition stands tall on its own even though many comment about it being ‘originally written by’ Johann Sebastian Bach.
