Thinking of teaching music privately?

We have organised an on-line event along with Youth Music Network to show you the pro’s and cons of teaching guitar, piano, drums and singing on a private basis. We will be looking at the legalities of setting yourself up in business, how to plan and structure lessons and how to get students to come to you.

The event will be run by Become A Music Teacher, Manager Simon Devlin.

Norwich Guitar Tutor
Guitar Tutor Simon Devlin

Professional musican, author singing and guitar teacher for over 20 years, Simon has masses of experience that he passes on to each tutor he assists and is likely to be your first point of call when contacting us. He has taught 1-2-1 privately, in schools, and music colleges, as well as giving guitar workshops to large groups in schools, music colleges, and corporate events for several years.

Simon sits on the Musicians Union Teaching Committee which is actively looking at ways to make music teaching more effective for all involved. He has written for several guitar publications including Guitar Techniques, Total Guitar, The Musician, Rhythm and Music Radar. He also helped to create the ‘My Guitar Lessons’ syllabus and lesson plans.

In his spare time he plays in a Jimi Hendrix tribute band. He has also had the pleasure to meet and jam with such legends as Prince, Albert Lee, Larry Graham (Sly & The Family Stone), Maceo Parker (James Brown), Andy James (Mothers Sacred Tongue), Chantel McGregor, Norman Watt-Roy (The Blockheads), Ben Poole, Wilco Johnson (Dr Feelgood), Simon McBride, Aynsley Lister and Paul Gilbert (Mr Big).

With much experience in this field we can pass on invaluable information on setting up your business, getting the required approval to teach, showing you how to do your accounts, assisting with marketing your services and providing you with many documents to help teach your students at all levels and abilities.

You will require a Google Account and a Skype Username to attend as this event is online. Please write to us including your contact details at NYMEvent@BecomeAMusicTeacher.com for details on how to join this event.
