Guitar Teacher Ian Simpson Joins MGL

My Guitar Lessons are pleased to announce guitar teacher Ian Simpson has joined us.

Ian is based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear and has been playing guitar for 18 years and in 2008 he obtained a Grade Eight Distinction from Trinity Guildhall. Earlier this year he was awarded a first class honours degree in Jazz, Popular & Commercial Music from The University Of Sunderland. Ian continues to work as a guitar teacher and as a performing musician, specialising in rock, pop, blues, slide and jazz styles.

Ian has been a guitar teacher for the past five years and has provided guitar lessons to a range of students from beginners through to more advanced players. He can assist students with basic reading skills, understanding rhythm and right-hand technique. As well as this, he has an extensive understanding of improvisation and soloing techniques particularly within blues and jazz styles.
