We Need You To Help Musicians To Make Sure They Are Financially Supported
We need you to stand up and ask the Government to support musicians in their time of need. Musicians have and still are struggling to make ends meet with the lose of gigs and venues shutting down. The Government needs to do more to protect our £5.8bn music industry and the musicians at its heart.
We are calling on Government to:
1. Adjust SEISS to ensure that all musicians are covered in future rounds of funding
2. Open up the next round of the Cultural Recovery Fund (CRF) to freelancers in England – in line with Scotland and Wales
3. Introduce an insurance scheme for summer festivals and other events
4. A subsidy for live events to happen with reduced capacity under social distancing
The Treasury must also ensure that SEISS and furlough provide workers with an equal level of support, and speed up the SEISS process.
