Magnatone amp and guitars up for auction

Up for auction on 15th June 2017 is a 1960 Magnatone amplifier (pictured), formerly owned and used in the studio by legendary Irish blues guitarist Rory Gallagher. There will also be a 1969 Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar, formerly owned by legendary guitarist Greg Lake, up for grabs. The King Crimson frontman sadly passed away in December after a long battle with cancer.

A collection of guitars belonging to Mark Griffiths will also be up for auction on 15th June. Griffiths played guitar for Matthews’ Southern Comfort who had the number one hit “Woodstock”. The guitar used in the studio on this track is included. All within the collection are a selection of bass guitars that Griffiths used live and in the studio with Cliff Richard, Hank Marvin, The Shadows and the Everly Brothers to name a few.
