London, October 18th 2016: ICMP students were lucky enough to see guitar extraordinaire Guthrie Govan perform and talk about his career at one of our Masterclasses. Due to the popular demand of this event, the Masterclass was held at the Tricycle Theatre where Guthrie was able to talk to students about all things guitar and more. He explored subjects including guitar techniques, tips on performance, and general advice he had for students upon completion of their studies and becoming professional musicians. With over 120 students in attendance across all our programmes, from post graduate to Cert HE, Guthrie explored topics which were helpful to not only guitarists, but to all of our musicians, both current students and alumni.
Guthrie is a regular visitor to ICMP, his variety of musical genres and styles appeal to a broad range of students. He has tours range from melodic roch with Asia to grime with Dizzee Rascal.
Guthrie is one of our many visiting artists for masterclasses, and we are pleased to have had a wide variety of artists visit the ICMP to talk to students about their experiences as musicians.
