Instruments up for auction
Various musical instruments from some of the biggest names in the industry will be sold at auction in November. Julian’s Auctions has announced an impressive auction featuring a wide collection of musical instruments and property from the likes of Prince, Frank Sinatra, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Michael Cartellone, U2’s The Edge and more.
On Saturday, November 5th 2016 Julien’s Auctions will offer collectors and fans the opportunity to bid on some of the following rarities:
Prince’s 1959 Gibson L48 guitar
Prince’s purple microphone
Pat Smear from Foo Fighters’ smashed guitar
A Frank Sinatra gifted piano to his daughter Tina Sinatra
Michael Cartellone’s Lynyrd Skynyrd stage and studio drum kit
The Edge from U2’s signed limited edition Music Rising Epiphone electric guitar
A guitar played by Mick Jagger and U2
Numerous celebrity signed guitars
The Edge’s singed Epiphone is estimated to be worth $6,000-$8,000, while Tina Sinatra’s piano is estimated to be worth $20,000-$40,000.
Prince’s purple microphone is estimated to be worth $2,000-$4,000, but it’s his Gibson that looks set to steal the show. It is estimated to be worth a whopping $40,000-$60,000.
Julien’s Auctions’ Icons and Idols: Rock n’ Roll Auction will also feature clothes, signed albums, documents and rare photographs from artist such as Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.
