Peavey 6505 Piranha micro head
Peavey UK’s new 6505 Piranha micro head guitar amp lands in the UK. Following its launch at NAMM in January, the latest powerful and portable addition to the esteemed Peavey 6505 guitar amp range is now available to UK customers for the first time.
Following in the footsteps of the hugely popular 6505 MH mini head, the Piranha packs high-gain tones into a minuscule and extremely convenient, 20-watt power amp head. Measuring only 8.5-inches wide when packed and weighing in at a petite 1.5kg (packed), the Piranha really does set a new standard for compact and portable amplification.
The Piranha harnesses all the high-gain power and legendary character of its larger all-tube siblings, with features including “crunch” and “lead” channels, a 20-watt (RMS) Solid State power amp, 16ohm speaker output, Aux input, 12AX7 preamp tube, a buffered effects loop, and tooled metal cabinet.
It is more than capable of excelling in bedroom, studio and even stage environments when combined with a cab. A single EQ control morphs the tone from aggressive thrash to throaty and boosted metal tones.
The minimalist controls and robust construction make this a must-have for guitarists seeking a portable head that is easy to use yet lacks nothing in the all-important power and tone departments.
