And while true to the original of the early 90’s, today’s Talman brings with it a familiar, yet fresh sound that places it squarely at the crossroads of modern Ibanez innovation and cherished traditional tone. With two pickups and a 3-way switch, the TM1702 is the simplest of the Talman configurations.

The Maple “Talman Classic-Plus” 22-fret neck is a traditional “C” shape for a comfortable, familiar feel reminiscent of guitars from the 50’s and 60’s, but its smooth, easy-playing Rosewood fretboard is where modern innovation takes over.
Seymour Duncan pickups
The TM1702 is equipped with Seymour Duncan APTL-1 and APTR-1 “Alnico II Pro” pickups, known for their uncanny sweet, classic tone and great sustain. Run through a 3-way pickup selector switch, these warm, single coil pickups are excellent for country, pop, blues or classic rock. Players who derive their distortion from an amp will appreciate the versatility and responsiveness these pickups offer—back off on the volume and transform your sound from a snarling bite to clean, singing tone with softer attack.

IFX-PRO FIXED BRIDGE
The Talman TM1702 ensures long-lasting, dead-on intonation after set-up by going the conventional approach one better. Rather than strings saddles being doubled up, as some traditional models have done historically, the IFX-PRO Fixed Bridge is equipped with six individual string saddles for superior adjustment control over the intonation of each string.
