Bass Player Live! 2015
A quick recap of this years show. Another BPL has passed us by, and we’d like to thank everyone who attended this ‘play ground’ for bassists everywhere. In fact, this was the best-attended year ever! Many new manufacturers, products and clinics for the curious musician to investigate, as well as a fantastic concert that honored Louis Johnson, Lemmy Kilmister and Nathan East. Our booth had quite a buzz around it this year, as we introduced our new Portaflex Series All-Tube Heads; the PF-20T & PF-50T, along with the new PF-112HLF Cab.

The buzz included everyone signing up for our fantastic give away, where a lucky winner would be the proud owner of a new PF-50T and PF-112HLF!
The first day of BPL included a History of Ampeg clinic with Bobby Vega and Dino Monoxelos. This included a slide show discussion of Ampeg’s contribution to bass history, as well as our iconic amps, like the original B-15s and SVTs! As a surprise, Bobby brought his original 1949 Ampeg Super 800 (one of the first amps for bass!), and gave everyone a quick demo as to how amazing it still sounds after 60+ years. They talked and played to a packed room for just over an hour, plus special guest Jerry Jemmott popping on stage to say a few words about the B-15! We had lots of great compliments following the clinic, as well as people hanging out and asking more questions.
Plus, we had the pleasure of listening to Bobby Vega and his famous ‘shark bass’, laying down the ‘funk’ through Ampeg amps all weekend.

Lots of Artists came by the booth all weekend; Juan Alderete, Eva Gardner, Jerry Jemmott, Danny Morris, Darryl Jones, Oscar Cartaya to name just a few.

At the end of the day Sunday, we drew from the pile of contest entries and announced our big winner of the new Ampeg rig! We would like to congratulate our big winner, Scott Jenkins of Waco TX.

Ampeg is honored to have so many fans and lovers of low end who consider themselves ‘Ampeg for life!’, and you are the reason for our success.
