Guitar Job With Fender.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated individual to join the Product Management Team based at the Fender Europe Head Office in East Grinstead, West Sussex. In this key role, you will be a Champion of the Brand, with a first class knowledge of the markets in which Fender operates, and be able to react according to the needs of the business. You will provide detailed reporting and analysis at various levels in order to facilitate tactical decisions, supporting the Sales & Marketing functions in each European territory. You will work closely with the business functions across Europe and the U.S., with shared responsibility for the profit and loss of the product line.

Fender are looking for applicants with proven sales/marketing experience, ideally from within the musical instrument industry.  You’ll need to demonstrate that you are commercially astute to work for an iconic brand, and you will have strong communication skills and the ability to establish credibility in this highly competitive market.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

Be a Champion of the Brand in the European organisation, with a first class knowledge of the markets in which the organisation operates, and be able to react according to the needs of the business.

Support, analyse, and effectively communicate by bridging various business functions within Europe and the US (Product, Finance, Planning, Sales, Marketing, Category Management and Local General Management) in order to maximise the success of the Product Line in accordance with the business strategy & product roadmap.

Provide detailed reporting and analysis at various levels in order to facilitate tactical decisions, supporting the Sales & Marketing functions in each European territory.

To be a conduit from Fender USA regarding strategy, product and business plans, being the product lead for the European team.

Building of sales budget, in collaboration with the business functions in Europe and US, with shared responsibility for the Profit & Loss of the Product Line on an ongoing basis.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Product:Launch, Pricing, Positioning & Lifecycle Management
In depth brand & product knowledge
Identify product opportunities in liaison with the sales team, and support subsequent development
Sales:Offer Sales and Channel support through provision of product knowledge and expertise, analytical data and market knowledge
Business Strategy:
Understand the Global Business Strategy and be able to communicate and implement, making business decisions that deliver on that strategy.
Market:Possess excellent market knowledge & understanding, covering all regions where the business operates, and be able to react accordingly in line with the business needs and strategy.
Supply Chain:Liaise with Supply Chain to understand current risks, opportunities and constraints that the Product Line may face, sharing knowledge with relevant parties of any planned activity that may affect forecast and the budget.
Work together to manage stock.
Finance:Work with Finance to identify issues within the Profit and Loss that may affect the overall performance, and be able to react accordingly within the boundaries of the business strategy
Key involvement in the S&OP process.
Marketing:Support the Global Brand Marketing strategic direction, and contribute a European perspective where applicable.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential Skills/ExperienceProven Sales/Marketing experience
Excellent IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Superb communication skills
Full command of the English language
Presentation skills, with confidence to present to Senior Management, staff, media and consumers
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain working relationships
Creative and imaginative
Desirable Skills/ExperienceBusiness or Marketing degree or Equivalent (BA Hons or above)
Foreign Languages
Prior Experience in the Musical Instrument industry
