New Andy Timmons Ibanez Signature Guitar.

The mutual admiration between Ibanez and guitar virtuoso Andy Timmons is long-standing. His AT100 Signature model is praised as a top-of-the line, pro-level instrument par excellence, with the only complaint being its lofty price tag. In response, Ibanez and Timmons embarked on a project to create a model that could be offered at a more accessible price with minimal compromise.

That instrument was introduced last year in the form of the AT10P; a Premium line model with a price tag that put the guitar within the reach of the working musician. Needless to say, the AT10P quickly found a following. This year, for those who prefer the softer feel of a Rosewood fretboard, Ibanez has introduced the AT10RP.

Based on a digitized version of a no-name guitar he had owned for years, the shape and feel of the neck is one of the defining features of his signature AT100. Apparently the replication was impressive. “I can’t believe how right they got it,” declared Timmons when he took his first test drive of the instrument.

Featuring a lightweight Alder body, jumbo frets with Premium fret edge treatment, Wilkinson® WV6-SB tremolo bridge and DiMarzio® pickups, the AT10RP is a performance based no-nonsense instrument that will speak to the player in you.

This video catches up with Andy Timmons in Texas to discuss the features and design of his new AT10P signature model. The instrument features a 1pc Maple neck with KTS Titanium Rods, an Alder body, Jumbo frets with Premium fret edge treatment, a Wilkinson WV6-SB bridge and DiMarzio Cruiser and AT-1 pickups.
