Slipknot Guitarist Stabbed In Head By Brother
Guitar player from Slipknot Mick Thomson has been stabbed during a drunken fight with his brother, according to police. The US group is known for its aggressive sound, violent imagery and theatrical Halloween-style costumes.Thomson and his brother Andrew were at a house in Des Moines, Iowa, when a drunken brawl began in the early hours and Thomson was reportedly stabbed in the back of the head.
The pair were outside when the police arrived. After being separated they were taken to different hospitals. Lead singer Corey Taylor wrote on Twitter of Mick Thomson: “From what I’ve heard he’s okay. We’re sending him all your thoughts. Thank you for that.” Andrew Thomson’s condition is not known.
The Grammy-winning, Iowa-based band is due to start touring in April after some years of silence. In 2014 the band released their first album in six years. They are due to play in Europe in June before returning to the US for a country-wide tour.
