Wilco Johnson back in hospital
Top guitarist Wilko Johnson who has been very ill in recent Months has returned to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. But this time it was to say thank you to the surgeon who saved his life. Wilko – who played with Ian Dury and the Blockheads and Dr Feelgood was given just nine months to live after being diagosed with pancreatic cancer. Now two years later the guitarist’s planning a comeback gig to raise money for Addenbrookes – the hospital where pioneering surgery gave him a new lease of life. Matthew Hudson went to meet him.
