Jack White Rare Record Found In Furniture Cushion!
A decade old record of guitarist Jack White has been discovered inside a piece of furniture, NME reports. The record, which was recorded by White and friend Brian Muldoon under the name The Upholsterers is one of 100 covertly released copies of the single that the pair stitched into furniture to celebrate Muldoon’s 25th year in the furniture trade.
According to Jack White’s Third Man records label, only two copies of the single have so far surfaced. Third Man has shared the artwork to the single, created by noted Detroit artist Gordon Newton on their official website. The artwork reveals that the single is titled “Your Furniture Was Always Dead… I Was Just Afraid to Tell You.”
The second single from The Upholsterers, the record followed the duo’s debut release “Makers of High Grade Suites,” which came out in 2000. That record featured a song written by White called “Apple of My Eye,” as well as a cover of “I Ain’t Superstitious” by Willie Dixon.
