Fender parts from Takamine guitars

Takamine has ceased its existing EMEA distribution agreement with Fender, effective December 12th 2014. A statement from Fender outlining the companies’ parting was reportedly issued to dealers last week, with Takamine now in search of a new distributor for the EMEA region. Our sources suggested that the Japanese guitar manufacturer is currently weighing up its options with regards to whether it will self-distribute or appoint a third party.

Earlier this year, Fender announced the sale of its Guild Guitar line to the Cordoba Music Group, sparking speculation that it could be shedding its distributed brands ahead of a move to sell its own products direct to consumers.
