Smiths Guitarist will Play Victoria in December
Johnny Marr, co-founder and guitarist for one of the most iconic British bands in history is scheduled to make his Victoria debut in December.
Johnny Marr, whose swirling guitar lines added to the signature sound of Manchester act the Smiths during the 1980s, will perform at Sugar nightclub Dec. 6.
Despite multimillion-dollar offers, the band, which was fronted by the enigmatic, solo-monikered Morrissey, has not reunited for a tour since their split a quarter-century ago. Inter-band rancour is often cited as the reason.
Marr has been active in the years since and his legendary guitar sound influenced a generation of British bands that followed, from Oasis to Coldplay.
