Rock star Jon Bon Jovi had a cold awakening when he accepted the ice bucket challenge and promptly nominated his band mates which includes top guitarist Richie Sambora who for many Years the 2 have not seen eye to eye.

Will the  challenge thaw relations between Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora? ALS’s fundraiser seems to have opened a new way of  communication between the American rock band and their missing lead guitarist.

Jon Bon Jovi completed the challenge on 16 August, donating to ALS research and receiving a bucket of ice-water over his head. In keeping with the viral video tradition, he nominated three more people to join the charity campaign: Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, and Sambora.

5 years ago, Sambora’s nomination would have been a normal choice among the other 2 members. Since then Sambora has not performed live with Bon Jovi concentrating instead with his own solo project. He was either fired or quit; the official explanation was Sambora’s “personal reasons”, though there were rumours of money disputes and even a relapse into substance abuse and drink.
