A British Government initiative called “Rock The House” is a cross-party initiative designed to encourage live music and to raise the importance of Intellectual Property Protection (IPP) in the creative industries. This is the fourth year of Gibson guitar Brands as an official Associate Sponsor in this event. “Rock The House” is the creation of Mike Weatherly, British Member of Parliament, in partnership with leading music industry practitioners. There was a competition in two parts to find and showcase the newest and most talented bands and the most innovative live venues.
Entrants are solicited through over 200 MPs who each put forward an artist from their constituency. The winners played at the reception for politicians from all parties on The Terrace at the Houses of Parliament on July 1 Attendees included members of the cabinet, media and key executives from the music industry.
Sirens in the Delta, won the 2014 Les Paul Standard from Mike Weatherly outside The Houses of Parliament, London. All girl band Rogue played an impromptu gig at Westminster as shown in our photo.
