Classical Guitarist Craig Ogden to Perform at Woolhanger Manor
Classical guitarist Craig Ogden will perform at Woolhanger Manor on June 6th ahead of the release of his third album.
After having two Classic FM albums shoot straight to number one in the UK Classical charts in the summers of 2010 and 2011, Craig is releasing a third album full of summer themes in June.
And his ability to create a languid soundtrack for summer evenings is coming to North Devon – just in time for the beginning of the sun-kissed summer months.
Mellow finger-picking intertwined with his interaction with the crowd make Craig a likeable figure.
This latest performance highlights the evocative imagination of Spanish music, a genre Craig is fond of.
Having performed the moving Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo with the North Devon Sinfonia in Ilfracombe back in 2012, Craig returns to the area.
Australian born Craig has lived the past decade in the UK – studying and now lecturing at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester – and brings a wealth of experience and skill with him.
The performance, called From Fantasy to Flamenco, is being held in support of local charity Young Musicians Support to help raise funds for its work and also to give an exciting experience to the pupils of local guitar teacher Des Miles.
In keeping with the Spanish theme, there will be a buffet of tapas available at the concert.
Craig Ogden is at the Music Room, Woolhanger Manor near Parracombe on Friday, June 6 at 7pm. Tickets: £25 (includes buffet). Details: 01272 850547 or karen@hopperfamily.
