Scott Sorry Back in The Wildhearts

Bassist Scott Sorry has rejoined The Wildhearts for their upcoming UK tour, for which Von Hertzen Brothers have been added to the bill as one of the supports.

The news comes soon after Ginger Wildheart confirmed the general release of Albion, his seventh album in two years.

He and Sorry will be joined by guitarist CJ and drummer Ritch Battersby for the eight shows in April.

Sorry says: “After a four-year break, I’m excited as hell to hit the road again with The Wildhearts. It couldn’t come soon enough.”

The bassist left the band after the release of their 2009 album Chutzpah for family reasons, and last year regretfully confirmed he wouldn’t be able to take part in The Wildhearts’ 20th anniversary tour plans, saying: “The only thing I love more than being a Wildheart is my family. But with much respect and a heavy heart I’m bowing out of my favourite band. I’m sure I’ll see you all again as retirement doesn’t really stick well to guys like me.”

Now Ginger reports: “The Wildhearts always seem to regroup when the timing is absolutely right for everyone. I cannot wait to get back on stage with the lads, and we’re all excited to be playing with our brother Scott again.”

The other support act will be Hey! Hello!, Ginger’s chart-topping side-project with Victoria Liedtke, who says: “We’re excited to finally be able to take it on tour – it’s been a long time coming.”

Tour tickets are on sale now for all eight shows:
