Trans-Siberian Orchestra return to UK
Trans-Siberian Orchestra will return to the UK for the first time in three years when they deliver two shows in January, complete with $20million production and 30-piece orchestra.
The band are also poised to release their first-ever compilation album, Tales Of Winter: Selections From The TSO Rock Operas, on November 18. It contains 15 tracks from across their 20-year career.
After that comes a Christmas single, Sarajevo 12/24, on December 16. It’s inspired by the story of Vedran Smailovic, known as “the Cellist of Sarajevo,” who played his instrument in ruined buildings during the Bosnian War.
Mainman Paul O’Neill, together with collaborators Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli, have masterminded five studio albums and played to over 10million people since forming TSO in 1993. The band performed to a total of a million people across the US during 2012.
Tickets for the two shows in England, which kick off TSO’s Europe Winter Tour 2014, are on sale now via Live Nation and Ticketmaster.
Tales Of Winter will be available via Decca/Universal as a CD and DVD with a TV special titled The Ghosts Of Christmas, described as “a unique fantasy trip.”
