Reading and Leeds Festivals 2014 Announcement Due Next Week
The first line-up announcement for next year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals will be made next week.
Organisers yesterday confirmed that the first announcement will be made on Tuesday, December 3 alongside the launch of a deposit scheme for 2014 festival tickets. Fans will be able to secure a ticket with a £50 deposit from 9am on the morning of the announcement with a further three monthly payments of £53.50 to follow.
Earlier this year festival organiser Melvin Benn revealed to NME that he has already booked two of the three headline acts for next year’s festival.
Benn, who this year secured Biffy Clyro, Green Day and Eminem to perform across the August bank holiday weekend, said that there is only one space left to be filled at the top of the bill.
Speaking about the names topping the bill in 2014, Benn said: “We have headliners in mind and booked actually. Two of the three are done, the last one we are giving due consideration to. Both of the headliners have played before.” Asked for clues as to who the acts may be, Benn added: “They are bands actually. They are American and English.”
