What does the metal band who has done everything do next? For Metallica, it seems that the answer is to play a show on the edge of the world…
According to the Columbian website for Coca-Cola Zero (via Blabbermouth), Metallica are set to play two Coca-Cola sponsored concerts in Antarctica on December 2nd and December 15th.
The announcement would tally with recent cryptic statements that Lars Ulrich made to a San Francisco radio station: “There’s a very interesting thing coming our way in December … There’s another frontier heading in Metallica’s direction in December. Which, if anybody (at the band’s management) even knew that I just said what I just said, they would hunt me down and silence me. But there is another frontier coming in December, which we’re very excited about.”
If Metallica do indeed end up playing at the South Pole, they’d be missing a trick by not dropping “Trapped Under Ice” into the setlist…
