Future Not Looking Bright For The Killers
The future not does not look bright for The Killers, with guitarist Dave Keuning saying he is ‘sick’ of touring following bassist Mark Stoermer’s absence at gigs.
Speaking backstage at a concert in Hong Kong, one which Stoermer missed due to ‘personal reasons’, Keuning told NME: ‘I am sick of this. I’m done. The end is in sight.
‘Some people might go, “Why are you complaining?” But you haven’t done what I have done, so you can’t relate. We just toured a s**tload.’
Other Killers members singer Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vanucci have also spoken about how draining touring has been, with Vanucci saying: ‘I don’t want to blow the top on it. Being part of this machine is physical and mentally exhausting.’
Asked if he thought they would carry on if Stoermer quit, he added: ‘I’d hope we’d keep trucking on. But at the same time, it isn’t the same band.’
The band’s latest release is a greatest hits album called Direct Hits, which features two new tracks and a remix from Calvin Harris and hits the shelves next month.
Flowers recently said that he plans to spend 2014 working on a new solo album.
