Boston to Release Album No.6

Boston have finally confirmed a release date for their long-awaited sixth album, Life, Love And Hope, which will be out on December 3.

But, despite previous suggestions, it will not feature the vocals of late singer Brad Delp, who committed suicide in 2007.

Delp had appeared on all five previous releases, from the band’s self-titled debut in 1976 to Corporate America in 2002. His place is taken by Tommy DeCarlo, who took over from Michael Sweet five years ago.

In 2011 mainman Tom Scholz said the album was 85 per cent complete. Earlier this year he reported he was nearing completion of the final track, Someday, saying: “It might be the title track – it reminds me of the up-tempo rockers I wrote for the debut album over thirty years ago.

“After completing this mix I only need to redo vocals on a couple of the cuts, remix them, then sequence and master the album. After work on this project for over ten years I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.”

Last year DeCarlo said: “Tom’s quite a perfectionist when it comes to his sound and his music; it’s not always done in a timely fashion. But when it gets done it’s fantastic. I’m with all the fans – I’m excited to hear it myself.”

Scholz is thought to be working on a Boston live DVD, although no details are available.
