David Bowie Leads Q Awards Nominations
The Q Awards 2013 are taking place in London in October, and will see Bowie up for 6 awards: Best Track, Best Video, Best Album, Best Solo Artist and the prestigious Best Act In The World Today.
Q Magazine’s Senior Editor Matt Mason said:
“It’s been another unforgettable year for music, and the nominations reflect the breadth and brilliance of artists from the UK and beyond. The return of David Bowie proved that, even in the digital age, pop stars retain the ability to completely amaze and surprise us.”
The nominees come from all ends of the musical spectrum, however other notable acts flying the flag for rock include Muse (Best Live Act), Biffy Clyro (Best Album, Best Act In The World Today), The Rolling Stones (Best Event) and Manic Street Preachers (Best Video).
The ceremony will once again be hosted by Planet Rock’s Al Murray, who commented:
“October is the only month with a Q in it! It’s a thrill once more to be hosting what has to be the greatest event in the music calendar. Not that I can remember any of the previous Q Awards that I’ve hosted.”
