Wacken Fest 2014 Sold Out In Less Than 48 Hours
All 75,000 tickets for the prestigious European metal festival Wacken Open Air were officially sold out within 48 hours, making the event reach its full capacity for the ninth time in a row.
Although sold out fest doesn’t exactly come as a surprise when it comes to Wacken, even the organizers were caught off guard and completely surprised by the amazing sale speed.
“Today we can confirm that Wacken Open Air is sold out for the ninth time in a row!” reads the official statement. “We never had expected to reach the total sold out in less than 48 hours. All 75.000 tickets are sold. Thanks for your support metalheads – this is unbeliveable!”
With 12 months left until the festival’s kickoff, the entire lineup is yet to be revealed. However, some of the confirmed acts so far include Amon Amarth, King Diamond, Children of Bodom, Kreator and the recently reunited Emperor.
“As every year we have made every effort to provide a terrific billing!” the organizers stated. “And the announcements won’t stop. During the Hamburg Metal Dayz (27th to 29th of September 2013) and our online Advent Calendar in December we will at least confirm one band per day. Together we will turn the 25th anniversary of Wacken Open Air into a mega party!”
Last year’s Wacken Open Air was sold out within a month, making this year’s record all the more impressive. The festival’s 25th edition will traditionally take place in a small village of Wacken in northern Germany.
