Iron Maiden Album Charity Celebration
The 25th anniversary of classic Iron Maiden album Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son is to be marked with a playback event as part of the Classic Album Sundays series.
Rock and metal scribe Dom Lawson will introduce the record by playing material that inspired its creation, along with contemporary music to demonstrate what made Maiden’s seventh release so special.
The band themselves just finished their own quarter-century celebrations including a headline set at Download that started with a Spitfire flypast.
Classic Album Sundays will present the evening at the Old Vinyl Factory, Hayes, on September 28 and 29. Guest speaker Lawson will deliver a “musical lead-up” before Seventh Son is played back on vinyl through a top-quality hi-fi system.
The venue, which was once EMI’s vinyl pressing plant, contains an exhibition covering the label’s history.
Tickets are on sale now at £15, with all proceeds go to the War Child charity, which seeks to assist the young victims of warfare. Refreshments will be provided by heavy metal bakers Bake in Black.
