Lemmy On The Mend

Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell has reported that frontman Lemmy is recovering from the health issues that forced them to cancel a recent tour.

The veteran was hospitalised with a haematoma last month, meaning he had to cancel two shows in Europe.

Soon afterwards Motorhead called off the rest of their summer dates, with Lemmy explaining he’d been told to rest for weeks rather than days.

He said: “It was a tough decision for me, as I don’t like to disappoint the fans – especially in times when the economy is band and people spend their money to see us. But sometimes you can’t do anything else than following doctor’s orders.”

Now Campbell reports: “Better prepare yourselves big time, because our mind-blowing new record Aftershock will be coming out.

“Lemmy is on the mend and we are gonna be touring our asses off. Business as usual real soon!”

The album is due for release in the autumn. Meanwhile, Campbell will appear at the Bloodstock festival next month with his new outfit the Phil Campbell All Star Band, featuring members of Straight Linges, The People The Poet, Dopamine and Attack Attack. He says: “It’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
