Bronz guitarist Shaun Kirkpatrick has died of a suspected heart attack.
The NWOBHM outfit are best remembered for 1984 top-ten single Send Down An Angel. Their second album, Carried By The Storm, was released in 2010 after having been shelved 25 years earlier.
That led to a reunion between Kirkpatrick and original vocalist Max Bacon, who’d gone on to front GTR. The pair, along with guitarist Michael O’Donoghue and drummer Clive Edwards, appeared at Hard Rock Hell in 2011 and were working on a record to be called Eye Of The Storm.
Bronz say in a statement: “As a father and husband his death was a complete shock, and he will be sadly missed by his wife and children.
“Melodic rock fans have lost a tunesmith whose works, like the jazz greats Shaun’s father loved, will be graced with even greater accolades posthumously.”
