Black Sabbath Vinyl Reissues On Sale
Rhino records is reissuing Black Sabbath’s “Technical Ecstasy” and “Never Say Die!” on vinyl, as well as the classic band’s compilation “We Sold Our Souls for Rock ‘n’ Roll,” HenneMusic is reports.
“Technical Ecstasy” and “Never Say Die!,” released in 1976 and 1978 respectively, were the last Sabbath albums to feature Ozzy Osbourne on vocals before the release of this year’s “13.” “We Sold Our Souls For Rock ‘n’ Roll,” which was originally released in 1975 is a double disc compilation of tracks from the band’s first six records.
Producer Rick Rubin has recently noted that it was a struggle working with Black Sabbath because the band aren’t the most prolific riff writers. While Rubin claims that stockpiling riffs is the best way to record an album, “because you never really know. The best song you write might be No. 25, not No. 12.”
He notes that “it was a little bit of a struggle with Black Sabbath, for example. We never got up to 30 [songs]. But they probably wrote more than 20. We probably recorded 16. And there are eight on the album.”
