Randy Blythe Cleared Of Manslaughter

Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe was officially found not guilty for the death of 19-year-old fan Daniel Nosek at the group’s concert in Prague in 2010. The three judge panel has acquitted the singer of all charges yesterday, the same day the trial was continued after a one month break.

“We did not find criminal responsibility in the actions of the defendant. We found moral responsibility. There has been the death of a young man who had not been guilty of anything. The acquittal does not prevent the defendant, if he feels some moral responsibility, to enter negotiations with the family of the victim and act accordingly,” stated the presiding judge Tomas Kubovec.

Randy,” the singer posted on his Instagram profile.

Before the verdict was given, Blythe addressed the court expressing remorse for the unfortunate event, taking full responsibility for his actions.

“I know I did not hurt or want to hurt anybody that night. I can understand the pain that the family of Daniel is experiencing. Daniel was a fan of my band. I had no wish to harm him. He was just a boy and I wish he was still here. If ultimately the Czech legal system sentences me to prison, I will do my sentence like a man. I have searched for an answer to this situation, the only one I can find to this tragic and horrible accident.”

Prior to entering court yesterday, the vocalist has thanked the Nosek family for not attacking him in the press and their “kind words in the court.” The family members were visibly upset and have cried during the trial with Daniel’s mother and brother allegedly being under psychiatric care.

However, the prosecutors are already planning to appeal the final ruling and have eight days to put their decision in action. Prior to Blythe’s acquittal, they were suggesting a 5 years prison sentence and a compensation of 10 million Czech Koruna (about $530,000) to the Nosek family.
