Lynyrd Skynyrd Guitarist Hospitalised

Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd were forced to cancel their concert dates last weekend at the Hard Rock Biloxi casino due to Garry Rossington being hospitalized with an abdominal infection. The 61-year-old guitarist was admitted to St. John’s Hospital in Jackson, Wyoming to undergo tests regarding the infection.

“Skynyrd Nation, regrettably, our shows at the Hard Rock Biloxi this weekend on 2/15 & 2/16 have been cancelled. Gary Rossington has been hospitalized in Wyoming with an abdominal infection. We are awaiting further tests and treatment, once we receive information on Gary’s status we will release additional information. Thank you for your understanding & support”, stated the band in an official announcement.

With no additional details regarding the guitarist’s health condition, we can only hope for the best and wish Rossington the fastest possible recovery. A representative from the casino has also expressed his wishes for guitarist’s recovery in an official statement.

“Hard Rock Biloxi sends our thoughts and well wishes to Mr. Rossington and his family during this time.”

The group is currently busy promoting their latest album, “Last Of A Dyin’ Breed”, released back in August 2012 via Roadrunner Records. Debuting at number 14 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, it became the highest charting Skynyrd record since 1977’s “Street Survivors”.
