Top Tour Takers Of 2012

Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters and Van Halen have made it into the top ten highest grossing world tours of 2012.

Billboard reports that The Boss and his E Street Band made over £129 million on the Wrecking Ball tour and played to over 2.1 million people. Roger Waters pulled in over £114 million for the Wall and Van Halen made £53.1 million.

The Scorpions made it to number 38 in the top 50 tours of last year by earning £20.2 million and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers just made it to number ten with £35.6 million. Radiohead and Nickelback also made it into the top 50, as The Rolling Stones with £21.8 million at number 33 and Aerosmith with £19.1 million at number 44.

The Top 25 highest-grossing live acts of 2012 were:

1. Madonna ($228 million) (£141 million)

2. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band ($199 million) (£123 million)

3. Roger Waters ($186 million) (£115 million)

4. Michael Jackson: THE IMMORTAL World Tour by Cirque Du Soleil ($147 million) (£90.9 million)

5. Coldplay ($147 million) (£90.9 million)

6. Lady Gaga ($124 million) (£76 million)

7. Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw ($96 million) (£59 million)

8. Van Halen ($54 million) (£33 million)

9. Jay-Z & Kanye West ($46 million) (£28 million)

10. Andre Rieu ($46 million) (28 million)

11. Dave Matthews Band ($41 million) (£25 million)

12. Barbra Streisand ($40 million) (£24.7 million)

13. Jason Aldean ($39 million) (£24.1 million)

14. Lady Antebellum ($38 million) (£23 million)

15. Red Hot Chili Peppers ($33 million) (£20 million)
