Charity Refuses Proceeds From Jack Russell Gig

Jack Russell announced this week that all proceeds from a February 7 acoustic gig would be given to the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, but the singer released the following statement:

“This morning my manager received an email from the Vice President of the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, stating that they will refuse any donations from me to the foundation.”

10 years ago, pyrotechnics at a Great White gig caused flammable sound proofing foam to ignite. Within minutes a deadly blaze ensued, killing 100 people and injuring hundreds more. It has been recorded as the fourth most deadly fire in US history. One of the fatalities was Great White guitarist Ty Longley.

“We do not want our name associated with ANYTHING Jack Russell or his band does. We do not want any donations or proceeds from anything he does” emphasised the Station Fire Memorial Foundation.

While Russell described himself as “saddened” by the reaction from the charitable organisation, he has stated that the gig will go ahead, with proceeds being donated elsewhere.
