Hurricane Sandy Relief Album Now Available

A highlights album featuring some of the best moments from 12-12-12 concert is now available at iTunes, with plans for a CD release on Jan. 22. Two dozen of the best performances and collaborations are included, with at least $6.50 from each sale going to the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

Amongst the highlights are tracks from Bruce Springsteen, The Who, The Rolling Stones and Adam Sandler’s collaboration with Paul Shaffer on the Sandy Relief Version of “Hallelujah”. Eric Clapton’s two songs are included, as are three by Billy Joel and three by Roger Waters, including his version of “Comfortably Numb” with Eddie Vedder.

Not making the cut are the Paul McCartney collaboration with Nirvana, and the Springsteen and Bon Jovi duets, UltimateClassicRock reports. With 50 performances from Madison Square Garden, some cuts were made necessary and it’s possible – as Vintage Vinyl News points out – that rights or contractual issues may have prevented a few songs from being included. As previously reported, “Cut Me Some Slack” is available separately at iTunes.

“12-12-12 The Concert for Sandy Relief” is on sale for $12.99 at iTunes.

The track list is as follows:

1. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, “Land of Hope and Dreams”

2. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, “Wrecking Ball”

3. Roger Waters, “Another Brick In The Atlantic Wall Part I, II & III”
