Starship Guitarist Found Dead At 46 After Norfolk Gig.

Starship who brought you ‘We Built This City’ and ‘Nothings Going To Stop Us’,  is mourning the loss of one of its critical members. Mark Abrahamian, the band’s lead guitarist, is dead at the age of 46, Starship announced Monday. He also played for Toto and Survivor.

“We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player Mark Abrahamian. We will miss you, brother. Rest in peace, Mark,” Starship wrote on their Twitter page. ‘Chris Lighty dead of apparent suicide’!

The Associated Press reports that Abrahamian died after suffering a heart attack following a performance in Norfolk, USA on Sunday night. He reportedly went back to his dressing room after the show and collapsed, and he was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

Starship also took to Facebook to remember the talented musician:

“We are all shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player Mark Abrahamian. Mark was a kind, thoughtful and innovative soul. He was also a friend and family member. Mark also happened to be one hell of a guitar player. We are devastated by the loss of our brother and just dealing with it the best we can.”

Abrahamian joined Starship—whose hits include “We Built This City” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”—11 years ago.
