Former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart is being sought by police for questioning after an alleged attack at a recent concert. TMZ reports that a warrant has been issued for Hart’s arrest.
My Guitar Lessons reports that the musician, whose real name is Michael Hartman, was accused of assaulting a person at a Mickey Hart Band performance on Sept. 8 at the Terrapin Hill Farm in Harrodsburg, Ky. The details surrounding the attack were unclear, but the alleged victim did file a police report that initiated the charges against the drummer. It is standard procedure in Kentucky to issue a warrant as soon as charges are filed.
Hart played with the Grateful Dead from 1967 all the way until Jerry Garci‘s passing in 1995. Even during his tenure with the Dead, Hart maintained a solo career, with his first album arriving in 1972.
In the year’s since the Grateful Dead, Hart has issued five albums, plus a greatest hits collection and toured as the leader of the Mickey Hart Band.
