Eddie Van Halen Undergone Emergency Surgery
Eddie Van Halen has been taken seriously ill and has undergone emergency surgery.
He was diagnosed with diverticulitis where the inner intestine or colon becomes inflamed or infected. An official statement confirms that Eddie needs no further surgery, but the band have had to cancel their remaining tour dates.
“A full recovery is expected within 4 – 6 months,” read the Van Halen website. “[Out] scheduled November 2012 tour of Japan is currently being rescheduled and the band looks forward to seeing and playing for their fans in 2013.”
This is not the first time Van Halen have had to cancel tour dates this year after reuniting to release their first album in 28 years, “A Different Kind OF Truth”.
In May it was reported on rumors that Van Halen were fighting and cancelling scores of tour dates. The band insisted the dates were postponed and would be re-booked, but by July they were officially cancelled.
